Admission to the Indian Maritime University

The Indian Maritime University has invited applications for admission to its three-year B.Sc. nautical science course conducted at T.S. Chanakya , Navi Mumbai; four-year B.Tech. course in marine engineering conducted at Marine Engineering and Research Institute, Kolkata, and National Maritime Academy Chennai; three-year B.Sc. maritime science course conducted at Marine Engineering and Research Institute, Mumbai, and four-year B.Tech. naval architecture and ocean engineering degree course conducted at the National Ship Design and Research Centre, Visakhapatnam for the session commencing from August 2010.



The selection is based on the rank obtained in the IIT Joint Entrance Examination 2010, followed by counselling, which will be held during July/ August 2010.



Those who have appeared in IIT-JEE 2010 and desire to get admission to the above courses should submit a separate application to the Indian Maritime University, Mumbai campus.



Total seats



B.Sc. nautical science: 185



B.Tech. marine engineering: 326



B.Sc. maritime science: 46



B.Tech. naval architecture and ocean engineering: 45



How to apply



There will be no separate entrance test for admission to these courses.



Application form and information brochure can be obtained from the Syndicate Bank branches at Thiruvananthapuram (Statue Junction); Kochi (Main Branch); Chennai (Mount Road); Hyderabad (N.S Road); Visakhapatnam (Main); Bangalore (Gandhi Nagar); Ananthapur on payment of Rs.800. The sale of application forms will commence on April 21.



Candidates can also get application forms by post by sending a requisition letter along with a demand draft of Rs.800 drawn in favour of Indian Maritime University at Mumbai, a self-addressed stamped envelope (12 X 10 cm. affixed with stamps worth Rs.85) to the Indian Maritime University, Mumbai campus, Karave, Nerul, Navi Mumbai-400706.
